Designs for toleware, mostly trays. Four designs are painted on black boards; two boards are patterns for trays, and the other two contain an assortment of patterns which could be combined in different ways. In addition, there are designs for 11 more trays done on tracing paper. These designs incorporate at least two, and as many as four, sheets. Typically, one sheet has the outline of the design, and the other sheet is painted in the desired colors. Sometimes additional sheets have the colors written in on an outline of the design. The designs incorporate birds, butterflies, fruit, and floral arrangements. Some designs bear dates; some are signed M. Grubb, while others are signed W. or Walter Wright.
